Kobelco Environment Creation Fund

We want our local community and Hyogo Prefecture to get involved in activities that will help prevent global warming and preserve the environment and biodiversity. At デュエルビッツ 登録el, we have been providing support for a range of activities since 2001. Over the course of the last 10 years however, we have started to feel a new sense of determination.

We developed the Kobelco Environmental Creation Fund to personally get more involved in nature and the environment. We ourselves want to seriously participate in nature activities. The next generation rests on our children's shoulders, and we want to pass on to them the importance of nature. We are embarking on initiatives that will make that dream come true.

* We participated in Kids Eco-challenge 21 as part of the Kobelco Environment Creation Fund.

We have launched a series of forest improvement activities in an area of unmanaged woodland measuring approximately two hectares in Greenpia Miki. We have named the area "KOBELCO Green Forest." デュエルビッツ 登録ain that falls on the forest brings life to trees and eventually ends up in デュエルビッツ 登録iver. As our steelmaking operations depend on the precious water that they provide, we are eternally grateful to trees for デュエルビッツ 登録ole they play. On that thinking, we decided to put those feelings into action.

Spearheaded by the Federation of デュエルビッツ 登録el Workers Unions, activities will be carried out hand in hand with the デュエルビッツ 登録el Group. To restore the forest to good health, first of all, we intend to start with basic tasks such as cutting back the undergrowth and thinning out and trimming trees. We believe that getting involved with and loving nature helps nurture the human spirit. That's why we will continue to dedicate ourselves to these kinds of activities in the future.

* Activities are being carried out in accordance with Hyogo's New Forest Project.

The aim of the Hyogo Prefecture Greenery Promotion is to involve the residents of Hyogo in restoring and revitalizing forestland, as part of the Hyogo Prefectural Government's New Hyogo Forest Development Project, so that we can help control global warming and leave behind a healthy environment for our children and future generations. It is a significant step to get the デュエルビッツ 登録el Group involved in these activities, and we definitely have high hopes for the future.

We have also launched a series of forest improvement activities in the area around Aburakobushi, a 625.5m peak in the Rokko mountain range that overlooks Kobe, the city from where the デュエルビッツ 登録el Group originates. We have named this area "ECOWAY Green Forest." Although the Rokko mountains were once stripped bare and faced an uncertain future, they have been brought back to life and are now covered with a wide range of plant life.

We want these mountains and forests to keep on watching over us in the future. That's why we've gotten involved in restoring the precious natural environment on Mount Rokko. Taking that as our inspiration, we will continue to engage in activities aimed at preserving biodiversity in the area.

* Activities will be carried out as part of デュエルビッツ 登録okko Mountains Greenbelt Development Project organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's Rokko Sabo Office.

* ECOWAY is the デュエルビッツ 登録el Group's environmental logo.
